Phantom of the Opera!

Last night Matt and I went to see Phantom of the Opera in Salt Lake. Matt actually planned his flight home from D.C. according to our date schedule!

Matt had seen it twice before but I had never seen the Phantom. We enjoy theatre, and go watch comedy theatre about every other month, but this was a big treat. We paid for the expensive seats right up front and enjoyed every minute of it!

Now I know that these people are professionals, and they do this for a living, but I was highly impressed at the quality of the performance. For example, the orchestra stayed in tune. Matt laughed that I noticed that, but I've played in orchestras and it's not easy to stay in tune after playing for so long. The props and background were amazing. There were awesome special effects and the actors were great.

So what can I say? It was worth every penny.

Good for you!

Not a big webber fan, but even I liked it the first time.

You should now see "Les Mis", or be risky and see "Ragtime"

Theatre

I saw Les Miz and it was incredible. I have also seen Bye Bye Birdie and Cats. Cats was my favorite. That is something I don't get to do all the time and wanted to take Genna someday.

I am glad you had such a good time!!!

Theatre is fun...

There are a ton of great shows out on the touring circuit..

Miss Saigon
Will Rogers Follies
Producers

Not to mention the ones that are already listed

We have taken Elizabeth our oldest to see a Christmas tradition of "The Christmas Carol" at Fords Theatre in DC, and she loved it. Both of our little girls have really been getting into the theatre when i have been working back at Quince Orchard, The High School that a lot of us went to. They really enjoy helping with the sets and watching the shows. They even sat through "The Tempest" which is shakespear.

See 'Em While You Can

I think there's labor dispute between the actors guild and the society of Broadway producers over touring productions. I recall reading that the Broadway stagers are miffed that touring productions are paying a lower scale.

Who knows how much longer until the touring productions are put on an indefinite hold?

inside your mind

Sammy, the union and producers came to some sort of agreement yesterday, so the show, as they say, will go on.

Hey did you know there's a movie version of Phantom coming out this winter?

i also saw the Phantom in Salt lake!

My name is jessica, 14 years. I went to see the Phantom of the opera
in Salt lake with my Girl /Scout troop as an "end of year cookie-credit activity."

We were dressed as fancy as we could allow ourselves to look without over doing it. We even stayed in a hotel! Anyway, we really enjoyed it.

Me and my best friend that is in my troop adored the phantoms voice! (on the night we were there it was Gary Maur). It was wonderful! At the end of the show we went around back for autographs! Gary Maur signed a few of the girl scouts arms (including my leader) before we left.

As we started walking to our hotel we turned to see Gary and a woman running towards us. He came asking us to show the women (obviously an acress) the girls' arms. He wanted to ask the lady if the other actor for the phantom had ever signed a body part. Only a belly. :) That is my memoriable story.

Thanks.
