It could happen to you…

I guess in a bad way, my mom and I are famous. For those of us that live in MD, you may have heard about this.

Yup, that was us. I know..I know, it was stupid. I have heard it from a dozen people. BUT….I ALWAYS leave my purse hidden in the car while at church. We have some elderly ladies who are mentally challenged and they steal money out of your purse. So we were told to keep it at home or hidden in your cars. Well, apparently I am not the only one who does this. The church down the street was hit on xmas eve and purses, men’s wallets, cell phones, cash, and xmas presents were stolen. Two schools, including my daughters, was hit during the day. Parents just running in to get their kids for only a few minutes would come back out and find their car window’s smashed in and purses stolen.

It has taken me two weeks to get my life back in order and it is still a battle with credit card companies, bank, etc.

Is he famous???

I have been so busy for ever that I haven’t even logged on or been to the site in awhile. Hi Everyone. Please excuse me if this has been talked about but…TIMPANE…did I see you on TV the other night??

I was watching tv and this commercial came on for Marlo Furniture. I saw this guy talking and thought…geeez he looks familiar and then it hit me…I KNEW who it was.

So am I crazy or was that you????

Eposide III

I am now with the times. I took Genna to see Eposide III yesterday. I am embarrased to admit this to my friends on this blog site…but…I have never seen Eposide I or II. I remember seeing 4, 5, & 6 but that was a million years ago. So I went out and bought the first two. They were pretty good but I got lost in the first one.

The third one was really really good. I was impressed. This one is going to make the last 3 seem like nothing. Of course, now I am going to go out and buy the last three so it will make more sense to Genna.

She got a little scared in the big scene at the end with Anakin and Obe One. But she loved it.

Terry Schiavo

I do not know if you guys have heard about Terry Schiavo or not. But I am sure you have. Go to cnn.com or nbc4.com to get updates. She is the women who has been brain dead for 11 years or so after an accident. They have removed her feeding tube. Congress is debating whether or not to put it back in.

My thought is, Congress should not get involved this is a personal family decision. My second thought is, this poor lady whether she is brain dead or not is going to be just laying there starving to death while her body shuts down. It could be 2 weeks before she passes away of dehydration. I believe that something should be done to ease her passing so she can go quicker.

I would like to hear your input. How do you feel about this?

I am SOOO excited

I found out a couple of weeks ago that my sister is pregnant with her first baby. Today she called me to tell me that she had her first visit and everything is normal. The baby is growing and has a healthy heartbeat. I am thrilled for her. She asked me to be in the delivery room with her. Of course I agreed without even blinking. The best news, IF the baby is born on time, it will be my 35th birthday present as it is due on September 27th, my birthdate. YAHOOOO!!!

Been quiet lately

I have been very quite lately. Just been reading what every one is saying. Some interesting and strange things. I have been swamped at work and at home.

We are FINALLY leaving on vacation. Last year at this time, we did the whole Disney thing. This year, we are taking it a step farther. We are actually doing a disney cruise. I am so excited and so is Genna. The rate was extremely cheap, otherwise I couldn’t have afforded it.

I will be back on the 24th and then off to St. Louis for business.

Have a great week!!!

Single Mom

It is so hard to be a single mom. Some people don’t understand that you have to stay home with a sick child. Because they themselves have a significate other to share the responsibility. But for me, I have no one else but me. My roommate helps out when she can. But in this circumstance, I had to stay home therefore making it tough at work the next day.

Genna woke up at 2am on Thursday morning with a migraine. Then about 20 minutes later the screaming increased but this time her ear was hurting. For those who know me, they know she just had surgery to fix her ear infection problem. So what can be causing the pain.

After 20 minutes of screaming I told her that we are going to the hospital. I can’t wait for the doctor’s office to open at 8am. She jumped off the bed and ran for the door. Ok, Mom are coming. Let’s GO NOW. Normally I would hit the ceiling for talking to me that way. This time I didn’t care. The look of fear in her eyes was enough for me.

The doctor was so sweet. He took very good care of her. She did have a migraine which they gave her some strong mediciation for it. But she also had swimmer’s ear. Ok, it is 30 degrees outside and bitter cold but yet she has swimmer’s ear. They said she probably got it while taking a shower.

But we came home at 4:30/5am. She was bouncing off the walls and I was totally exhausted. Being a single mom is not easy at all!!!

The Ice Queen!

Ok, maybe not ice queen but I am just as proud. Genna had her first ice skating competition yesterday.

When she first started ice skating a year ago. I wanted her to learn the proper way to ice skate and not to compete. But her coach insisted that she try it. She thought she would be good enough. Well, my baby girl not only went through this, and by the way LOVED it…she received a silver medal in her division.

It was a close call between her and the gold medalist. She told me that she was nervous when she went to church that morning but when she stepped foot on the ice, she felt fine. She was poised, smiled, and kept her back straight.

My baby girl

When I was in Utah last month, I told everyone that Genna was having surgery this week. Well, she had her adnoids taken out on Tuesday and she was a trooper. She did everything the doctor said and came out of it as well as can be expected.

BUT…while recooperating, she got some sort of infection or virus. I rushed her to the hospital last night. We didn’t get home until almost midnight. They thought she had viral menigities. I haven’t had much sleep, so please excuse me if I can’t seem to spell anything today. Well the procedure that they had to do to find out that she didn’t have it was a spinal tap. They gave her four doses of morphine and she feel asleep in the middle of the procedure. If nobody has had one before, it is as bad as it sounds. I was with her the whole time.

She is home with grandaddy today. She still has a fever but she says she feels better. Keep your fingers crossed that my baby is on the mend.

From an email

I saw this today on an email newsletter. Thought it was cute and you computers geeks might think it is good for a laugh:

I saw this today on an email newsletter. Thought it was cute and you computers geeks might think it is good for a laugh:

Having recently survived (barely) an upgrade of the Windows XP software on my home PC, I began to wonder what might happen if Microsoft decided to go into the gardening business:

  • 97 percent of all flowers, shrubs, trees, fertilizers, trowels, rakes, hoes, spades, lawn mowers, tillers, hoses, sprinklers, pots, fountains, patio blocks, landscape timbers, stepping stones, garden gnomes, and pink flamingos would be sold (or licensed) by Microsoft.
  • The other three percent of gardening stuff would look really cool but cost twice as much.
  • A Microsoft rake would work only on leaves from Microsoft trees.
  • Whenever you planted a new Microsoft shrub, two other shrubs that had been thriving would suddenly die.
  • Microsoft vines more than two years old would no longer be supported by Microsoft trellises.
  • Plants would be called “software” and tools would be called “hardware.” Problems would be called “user error.”
  • Before you could turn off a Microsoft string trimmer you would be asked, “Are you sure?”
  • You could not divide a Microsoft perennial without violating copyright laws.
  • You couldn’t purchase Microsoft grass seed without also purchasing 20 pounds of Microsoft lawn fertilizer.
  • Microsoft’s All-America Selections for 2005 would come out in 2007.
