The Party Is Over

Just when I thought BitTorrent was a big secret…

CNN running a story is the equivalent of the UMBC’s Office of Residential Life showing up at Severn 112 and shutting down the Hard Mic Party.

  1. Copyright

I’m really beginning to wish that copyright was reverted back to the length it was at the time of the ratification of the Constitution: Twenty Years.

  2. Roadblock in a grass skirt

As I remember, it was 2 cash bars, a keg, mixed drinks and frozen drinks, 80 people in a 14×14 room. Wa actually had a bouncer and a line to get into our apartment, when it was snowing outside. We raked in $340, and all ORL could nab us on was a:

    fire code violation.

We had a dude try to pay for drinks with a Ski Liberty card.

That year, our Roommate Agreement was immortalized by ORL as an example of what NOT to accept for students. They use it as the model of all that is immoral and right in college life.

    1. The Severn Splash

And Kevin invented a drink – the “Severn Splash”, if I remember correctly – that contained just about every form of alcohol known to man.

And, in one of those episodes of gung-ho teenage male stupidity, I thought it would be super-cool (it being a beach-themed party) to wear a leather vest and no shirt. Oy vey. Not a shining moment.
