15 Years already???

Matt, Since you are still listed on the MIA list, this may be news to you. I’ve gotten several emails lately about the planning of QOHS class of 91 reunion. Its still a few months away.. But I just wanted to check to see in any of you guys, from 1991, were thinking about making the trip back.

PS Matt, maybe we can find Jen Ward for a basket toss. 🙂

  1. Love to!

Love to. Maybe it’s time to start saving my money. Anybody willing to put Christy and me up if we made the flight? Would save a lot of dough 🙂

I don’t know why I’m still on the MIA list. I’ve emailed them and registered…

    1. Always Welcome…

Your always welcome at Casa de Brusco. We are a bit out of the way & that there are people who might be closer, but depending on when you come out this way, the basement might be completed.

    2. Not So Organized

I get the feeling that the troupe in charge of the reunion isn’t so organized. I sent them Matt’s info and they still list him as MIA. Judging from the emails, it seems they only have about 20% of the class.

Also, I’ve asked for the reunion date and they never got back to me. Anyway…when is the reunion?

      1. Still in the planning stages

I also asked when the date of the reunion and am waiting for a reply. The alumni website doesn’t have the date on it either. From the sounds of it, they are trying to make it a weekend long event. I’m most likely going to stay at my fathers house for the weekend. Just to add another offer, I seriously doubt he would mind if you crashed there too. I think you know where it is. 🙂

        1. Did You Actually Graduate?

I need to see proof. 🙂

Hit up the QOHS homepage and move through to the alumni section. Also, I only have your grad school email account, otherwise I would have hit you with all the goods directly.

          1. Still working

All my old college accounts still work. I don’t check them often, but I’d rather not share any current email addresses out on the web, lest they become spam-magnets. Hit me up (and I’ll give you my current email address then).

          2. “Contact” tab

People who are members of the site can also just click on your user name, then click the “Contact” tab, and send you an email.

It will use their own email address with which they registered as the return address.

          3. Man of mystery…

Yes, that is why I will be in disguise at any reunions. Don’t want to get jumped…

          4. Same year as me…

Daniel was in the same year as me. We played in the Jazz Band together. I’m embarassed about the fact that I can’t remember if he played the sax or the trumpet, though.

          5. Trick question

That’s because I was so versatile. Sax by day, trumpet by night–one night, that is, for one solo (trading fours alongside Jared Bush) in the last concert of my high school career.

          6. Ambiguity is excellent!

Sax by day, trumpet by night…

Musical ambiguity is excellent! Some people who’ve known me for years are nevertheless surprised when they see me slide up to the keyboard or pull out my guitar. It’s fun whipping out my home-made music and playing recordings for them, explaining that the guitar, bass, drums, and piano are all me.

(Back on topic…) Now that you explained it, the fact that I couldn’t clearly remember is a point in the favor of my memory, instead of another check-mark on the long list of stuff I’m forgetting that I shouldn’t.

            Score one for my brain!

  2. 91?

Matt, you graduated in ’91? For some reason, I thought you graduated in ’90. Am I high?

    — Ben

    1. High?

      Am I high?

Maybe! I was in the same grade with Sam, but Sam was a year younger than most in our grade. If I recall correctly, we mutually received an award for musicianship the year we graduated…

      1. Aha

Yes, then I am high. I was remembering the year age difference, not the grade difference. My 15-year reunion isn’t until next year – i’m desperately holding on to my youth.

        — Ben

      2. Date of reunion

I just got a reply back that it is going to be the weekend of July 8 and the alumni website will be updated with details soon. — Bryan

        1. By ‘soon’, that means…

…July 7th? I too have noticed that e-mails don’t often get returned in a timely fashion. It’s good to hear that there’s some progress on the planning. Lisa’s ten year reunion was at a bar in Bethesda – we did not attend. I can hope that the planners heeded various calls for including some family activities.

Anyone else see the e-mails about the fundraising they were suggesting?

          1. Seen it…

I have read through the email for the fundraising. I haven’t decided if i am going to donate or not.

I didn’t like the idea of the ’92 10 year at the bar in Bethesda either so we did not attend. I was hoping for something that included family, or at least something that was not in a bar, just didn’t seem to feel like the right venue for the reunion.

          2. Weekend long event including family time.

It sounds like they are making it go all weekend. My take from the info so far is that there will be a “social hour” on Friday, which may be at a bar or restaurant, more of an actual event on Sat. night. and a picnic or something on Sunday with family in mind. The 10 year was in a reception area and the hotel on 355 and 124(cant remember the name). It wasn’t really for kids, but several people were there with the husband/wife. — Bryan
