I think I’m going to go, once they get the right email address… I consider my gmail account a “throw-away”, but somehow people keep thinking that’s my address rather than honoring the reply-to address (my barnson.org email).

I think, if we do come, we’ll take up Justin & Kelly on their offer of a place to stay. That really close proximity to the festivities is just too much to pass up. Justin, are you guys going to be in town that weekend? If so, that means all we have to worry about are plane tickets and finding a babysitter for a few days.

Now that I think about it, only Bryan, Daniel, Sam, and I were in the grade together at Q.O., right? No excuse not to get together with whoever’s in town and have a few drinks. For me, the drink of choice is a tall double breve with sugar-free vanilla and hazelnut 🙂

So let’s call it dinner on Friday night, July 7, 2006. Are there any good, cheap restaurants in or around Monkey Village where we can maybe book a room and have a dinner together? We were tallying, and realized that if everyone came that I’d want to see, we’d be looking at like twenty+ people!

Christy and I are working out what we’d want to do for travel plans. I’m thinking we’d fly in Thursday afternoon/evening, plan on spending a day driving around and being tourists on Friday day, have a dinner with friends Friday night, and then spend Saturday just doing whatever and then hitting the reunion Saturday night. Sunday’s another free day, and we’d fly home Monday-ish.

  1. Great News

Good to hear that you and Christy wil be heading out this way. Hopefully I can catch you all while you are out here.. Let me know if I can help with anything. 🙂

    1. Stay with you?

We’d actually like to stay with you guys a night or two. Nothing says “relaxing vacation” more than, uhh, actually relaxing while on vacation. We need to finalize our schedules to figure out what our plans are.

There’s precious little to do out your way. And that’s a good thing 🙂

  2. I didn’t go to high school

I didn’t go to high school with any of you, but I live a half hour from Justin and Kelly. We should have a barnson.org get-together some night while y’all are in town!

    1. Current plan…

That’s the current plan, at the moment: A big dinner together Friday night at a restaurant for people I know, and then a smaller get-together including those of us from here afterwards at Justin’s.

      1. Sad Carroll County Denizen

I didn’t have the luxury of a Monkey County education, but count me in for the Barnson.org get-together!

        1. Sweet!

OK, so barring any weird complications, Friday, July 7.

I’m still getting some advice from Justin on where to have our get-together. If we could get a small room, that would be much cooler than kind of randomly getting tables.

          1. So edited!

            So edited 🙂 July, even!

There is a downside to working nights, and that’s feeling slightly tired all the time, with commensurate tpyos and fatfingers…

      2. Can two more alums horn in on the parade?

I’ve been digging out from a mountain of work and am just now getting back to some regular surfing and was excited to see this news about the reunion. Lisa was more excited, frankly, than I was, but what are you going to do? Any more room at these events for another ’91 grad? Let me know.

And Matt, I need to touch base at some point, because I am still hoping to meet up with you when I am in SLC in late May.

        1. email

Well, you know my domain (barnson.org) and my first name (matthew), so you know my email address now 🙂 Although I’m loathe to publish my phone number online, I’m in the book, or feel free to send me a private message here.

Of course there’s room… You should go to https://ssl.perfora.net/qoalumni.org/index.php?act=news&year=1991 for info. Or you could PM me for Daniella’s address, too (once again, I hate to put this stuff online…).

      3. Almost worth it

This is starting to sound worth the 2-hour drive down! I have to admit, I’m struggling to figure out what $120 covers. Call me cheap–I won’t deny it. But dinner with debate partners and their SO’s, well, I might leave the bunker for that.

I’m still trying to swing a breakfast “reunion” in SLC this April, Matt.

        1. Drive down, skip reunion

Eh, then just drive down and skip the reunion entirely. Just show up for a Friday dinner with some good, old friends, renew acquaintances, goggle at how fat most of us have gotten, then head home.

          It’s all good 🙂

    1. Room for one more?

If there is room for one more, count me in… (maybe two if my SO joins me) — Bryan

      1. We ‘replied’ to the evite

Mostly at my better half’s prompting, I replied to the evite that I received from the reunion planners. And we’re exploring getting the kids down to the shore with their grandparents for the weekend. So we’re in.

Any other plans? Is someone exploring finding a location for the shin-dig?

        Tim

        1. Justin?

Any other plans? Is someone exploring finding a location for the shin-dig?

Justin, is there any chance you could step up to the plate and book a room at a restaurant near your new house? Within walking distance would be great, but within a couple miles would be fine.

We’ll have a nice dinner, and then those with obligations can excuse themselves, while the party crowd goes to Justin’s house 🙂

  3. 180 MIA

Hey all, I just got an email from the organizer with an MIA list of 180 people. How many people were in our graduating class, 250? That’s a pretty large # for whom to have no info and still call it a reunion!

  4. Is a barnson.org gathering still on?

Wondering if the barnson.org gathering is still in the works? Chance I could be in town July 8.

    1. Yeah, but…

Yeah, but I need to get paid before I can get everything lined up and finalized. I’m about $500 shy of where I can afford the trip right now. I expect I should be able to nail down the plans by June 1.

      Matthew P. Barnson

      1. $500 shy

Do I smell a barnson.org fundraiser in the works?

Wayward Sun reunion tour, all proceeds to a good cause? I think Justin alone would pay $500 for that.

        1. More like

5 gazillion!! but will they play a 74 minute long version of Afterlife?
