Hands down. This is the best day I’ve ever had in my life.
College graduation? A paltry comparison. First time on the Folger stage? Meh. First kiss? Hey, that was great and all, but a man’s heart has priorities:
The wellspring of my inner geek swells to bursting, straining to break forth into rivers of joy that gleam in effulgent anticipation.
Why, you may ask. Because I just found a bit of news that I can’t believe I didn’t hear sooner. The import of this discovery would eclipse even Robert Langdon finding Mary Magdalene’s bones and overshadow the uncovering of every single Horacrux known to humankind. That which I have for the better part of my entire life’s span on this frail globe been waiting or, the holy grail whose inevitable discovery I never doubted, the event which promises to unite all the nations in harmony, is soon to be upon us.
Come the fall of 2007, the Companions reunite.
Can’t say it was the ‘best ever’ news…
But I was thrilled to see this development, too. I’ve not run across any spec art or a leaked script but I’ve started keeping an eye out. If it’s done right, it should be way cool. On the other hand, Marvel had great material to work with for Ultimate Avengers, but by all accounts, including mine, the screen adaptation failed miserably.
The “official” movie website
Supposedly this is the “official” movie website. http://www.dragonlance-movie.com/ It has some additional information not mentioned on the IMDB page, but not much more. I’m in the same boat as Tim with the Ultimate Avengers movie. It reminded me of when G.I. Joe would run 5 connected episodes for one week when I was a kid. If this is going to be anything like that, I would rather see a series on cable network. That way the story line would allow for growth instead of cramming everything into 90 min. — Bryan
dude
You guys watched Ultimate Avengers?
I’m like the biggest Comic nut in the world… and even I didnt go that far.

To be fair…
I watched it when Cartoon Network aired it a while back, because I was too cheap to purchase it outright. I’d considered buying it, but the reviews were awful, so I wanted to see what the fuss was about before making the case to buy it. Glad I put in the time, in one sense, since it spared me the full price of the DVD. What I couldn’t get over was how much the whole thing reeked of ‘design by committee,’ as if hordes of ill-prepared screenwriters had worked on cobbling it together, before sending it to get scrubbed by some team of lawyers who wanted to take all the fun from a comic-book movie.
Ummm… Did I say I watched it?
I mean, I didnt watch it.. I was saying that I heard from some one else.. Or errr… I got it for my nephew and it was on while I was babysitting him… Ok, ok… I admit it, I got the DVD before reading reviews.. But it did have alot of special feature that made it almost worth owning.
I tell ya, I’m going to have to start having kids just to justify some of the DVDs I own. 🙂 — Bryan
That’s a bit like…
That’s a bit like buying the fishing trawler because you like the taste of cod. I mean, sure, it gets you closer to the stuff, but unless you want to be a full-time fisherman, you’re better off at Wal-Mart.
