      This is true, Justin, although technically the founding fathers did not believe in the Great Pumpkin in the way that you do today.

      The FFs, for the most part, believed that while the Great Pumpkin had indeed created the pumpkin patch, He no longer actively visited it, even on Halloween night. So, much like a machine left to run on its own by its builder, the pumpkin patch would grow and thrive based only on what the pumpkins themselves did with the tools that the Great Pumpkin left them.

      Personally, I think both this archaic philosophy and y’all’s current beliefs are both total bunk. Only my religions’s knowledge of the Great Pumpkin is valid, and I look forward to the day when I rejoin the vine and receive my 72 slices of pumpkin pie.
