Surface Computing

Surface Computing is some pretty cool technology that M$ has been developing. Take a look. I especially like the wireless features that they discuss towards the end of the video. I can’t wait to find one to play with.

  1. M$ Hardware

I’ve long maintained that Microsoft makes $hite for software, but their hardware is the bee’s knees.

I saw a presentation from Jeff Han on this display a year ago, and thought it was pretty awesome. It’s nice to see this idea being monetized. This will be fun to play with when the time comes!

Can you imagine how interesting this will be as more than just a conversation piece? I mean, invite some friends over, and while you have to excuse yourself to the restroom, your guests can amuse themselves with your table. Play “You Don’t Know Jack” with actual buzzers on the table, too 🙂

OK, maybe it will just be a novelty at first, but people always figure out fun ways to use new things in ways the designers never intended…

    1. Gaming

I was thinking that this could bring a whole new level to family game night. Now you would be able to play games and not worry about the set up and clean up 🙂

Taking a different spin on gaming – Games such as D&D and the like could become more interactive.

I love that “you don’t know jack” game. It has been years since we’ve played it.
