So Christy’s out of town for the week, the kids are staying with their grandma for the week, and I’m alone in my house with the swamp cooler blasting, attempting to relieve the 103 degree heat of the day.
Combine this with intense upper back pain — I heard a “pop” a few days ago while rolling out of bed, and things haven’t been normal since — and I’m stuck staring at the ceiling, hoping this combination of Lortab and Midol will kick in and let me sleep a little bit before I am supposed to be awake in four hours to go to work.
I’ve only had this for a week. Man, chronic pain must suck much worse. And chronic loneliness even worse than that.
So, in pain, lonely in a big house with five people missing who are supposed to be here, and typing on my computer when I should be snoring because I can’t sleep. How’s your day?
Ack..
Kel used to have to go to Louisiana 4-5 times a month and it sucked big time. I feel your pain. Well, not your pack pain.. but the other pain.
Find a project.. set yourself to something youwouldn’t otherwise be able to do. Even if its just picking up a Video Game ant trying to beat it. (Or hey, do some recording).. or just sink slowly into the quagmire..

Scrubs
I watched episodes of “Scrubs” on my back in bed until I felt like I was a little bit tired around 2:30 AM. Then at 5 AM, my alarm went off and I got ready for work.
There are a few good things about a long, sleepless night. You develop an appreciation for your usual bedtime. You can watch the “My Musical” episode of Scrubs and shout “Buffy did it better!” at the screen. And you can look forward to the next night, when you might sleep better, if it weren’t for the fact that you have a large presentation due at 7:00 PM which you hadn’t even started yet… and which you find yourself nodding off in front of at your computer as you try to prepare it.

I’m Sorry
I’m sorry…what was that? I was too busy hanging out with your wife and sleeping.
🙂
Sleeping with my wife
Thanks for the heads-up, I would have been concerned had anybody else told me they were sleeping with my wife. She’s a pretty cool gal and fun to have around, no?
Mom likes her better than me. And if I based this opinion on whether someone talks to her more than they talk to me, apparently Justin likes her better than me, too 🙂
