The Moving Day 2007

Today is moving day. I spent many hours last night loading a twenty-six foot U-Haul truck with all of our stuff… It’s stacked to the ceiling, and this morning we get to unload it in sub-freezing temperatures.

So much for my plan to do nothing this week.

  1. You’re Moving?

The Barnsons are moving? Kind of a shocker. Are we talking down the street or across the state or to Nicaragua?

    1. An hour away…

We’re purchasing my mother’s house in Riverton, UT. Since Dennis’ death two months ago, she has had a difficult time living alone. There was also very little life insurance, insufficient for maintaining the home, and she had been on a leave of absence from her commission-based work for some time.

At the very least, it’s a well-built house. No drafts to speak of, good windows and doors, 30% larger than our old home, an absolutely huge detached RV garage, and an acre of land, right in the middle of the city. The only pain I feel with the decision is the additional pinch on my wallet…

      1. Don’t be a stranger

Send me your updated contact info, please…unless this is part of a broader plan to tactfully “lose contact” with some of us ;)!

        1. New info…

          New info:

Phone number is the same. Email addresses are the same. Mobile numbers are the same. The only thing changing is my address.

New address: (Removed because my friend Sammy G. helpfully indicated I’m an idiot for leaving it up.)

Yeah, I’m crazy for posting my info on the Internet. You know what? You don’t have any privacy anyway, just the illusion of it.

The new place is almost exactly the same length of drive from the airport as the old (30-35 minutes). But now we’re south of the airport instead of west of it. Even though it’s not the house we would have chosen on our own, there are some advantages… chief among them is better location, closer to all kinds of stuff including family and job sites.

          1. While You’re At It

Matt, thanks so much. Since there’s no such thing as privacy, would you mind also posting your SS#, credit card info, 3-digit code, and mother’s maiden name? Lots of January retail sales going on.

            I’d take down your address.
