Happy New Year’s!!

I just wanted to wish everyone a happy and safe New Year’s Eve because remember tomorrow is the day you start your resolutions. Mine this year is to get over the flu. That is right, even though I had a flu shot, I am sick with the flu. I spent Friday night with my neighbor and her 3 year old son at the hospital because his fever was 105.4. Thanks Marshall for making me sick!!!!

Anyway, please be safe and talk to you next year!!

  1. My resolutions!

I have a few resolutions this year:

    • Achieve and maintain 200 lbs weight or lower (I’m 219 now, down from 255 two years ago)
    • Do the above while gaining muscle mass, or at least not losing much muscle mass (174 lbs of lean body mass here)
    • Complete the “Power 90” program once, and “Slim in 6” program once, during the course of the year. These are exercise programs from Beach Body that I really enjoy.
    • Go swimming at least once a week
    • Strengthen my relationship with my wife by continuing our expensive but worthwhile tradition of weekly dates every Friday night
    • Renew acquaintanceship with at least one old friend I haven’t seen in several years
    • Take my kids out on monthly “daddy-daughter” or “father-son” dates — just one of them, and one of me, to somewhere fun and memorable
    • Take my son Zach on a week-long road trip somewhere
    • Learn a new programming language (maybe Java)
    • Enroll in college to work toward a degree in computer science, with an eye towards improving artificial intelligence
    • Pay off at least one major debt

I think that’s more than enough to be going on with 🙂 Sorry to hear about the flu for you! I’ve gotten the flu before, and it simply stinks.

    1. My Resolutions…

      1. To loose weight. i would like to loose about 30 – 40 lbs. I am around 240 now, and i was at 200 about 3 years ago. I was working out alot more then, but I know that my weight goals are possible.

      2. Complete another major project on the house. 2003, it was a custom deck. I will have to find something for 2004.

      3. Design another great set for Qunice Orchard H.S. Theatre. I started off strong with my set for The Tempest. I can’t wait to see what the musical will hold.

      4. Earn at least one certification and learn one programing language. I think i will be picking Java as my language. The neighbor across the street is a Java Guru and has shown his willingness to aid me in my quest to learn it.

      5. Start up my own company / franchise.

I think that i have set out a guideline for how i would like to try to make some changes this year. I can’t wait to see how they come out.

Happy New Years to everyone, and i hope that you and your loved ones have a safe and happy Year.

      1. Jon..

You must let me know when these plays are.. if I wouldn’t come see the plays, I would at least come take a look at the set.

I’ve been meaning to, anyhow.. possibly come lecture a theatre class this semester about professional acting in the DC area.

  2. ok, I have a few more resolut

ok, I have a few more resolutions:

    1. Figure out what major I want for my Masters. 2. Stay out of debt 3. Maintain my finances and stick to my budget 4. Do more things with Genna. As Matt put it, mommy-daughter dates. I spend alot of time with Genna and we do alot of things but I want to do something each week that we both look forward to. 5. Go to church every single sunday regardless of how I feel when i wake up. 6. Continue my trek with Weight Watchers…lost 14 pounds so far and it is a slow process but it will be well worth it in a year from now. 7. Enjoy life more!

I think that is it. If I can keep up with atleast 2 of these, I will be doing good!!

  3. resolutions

    I plan to:

    1) Gain a hundred pounds by eating nothing but potato chips and drinking vanilla malts

    2) Increase my alcohol and caffeine intake, and perhaps take up smoking.

    3) Spend less time with family, and more time watching TV, playing games, and reading comic books

    4) Eat candy right before bed without brushing my teeth

    5) Incur one more major debt with nothing to show for it.. perhaps by gambling.

    6) Lose touch with someone, and do the best I can to damage the friendships I do have.

    7) Most of all, I need to stop treating my wife well.. I need to be more neglectful, more demanding, and less forgiving..

Of course, I say this every year, but like everybody else, I always fail to keep my new years resolutions.. oh well.

    1. Oh my, that’s awesome

Dude, Justin, that qualifies as a blog entry in itself. ROFLMAO!
