New pictures up

I couldn’t sleep last night, so around 2 AM I posted new pictures of the Barnson family. Figured you might get a kick out of seeing the whole clan. So there ya go.

We did the photo shoot in the Oquirrh mountains east of Tooele, UT. There are some beautiful spots within easy driving distance of our house; a pity we don’t visit them more often. These are a few samples; more good ones (including close-ups of the kids) are in the photo album.

The weather was clear and warm, with a light breeze. The principal concern of the children was that the very large termites, on the “log” shots, not get on them. They’re a bit squeamish about bugs — gotta work on that. Afterwards we bought barbecue pork and beef sandwiches from a new roadside stand on main street along with our photographer, Verlene Sedgewick. Verlene is an old friend of Christy’s, and an amateur photographer who does surprisingly fine work.

EDIT by matthew: Experiencing weirdness with my photo gallery software, fixed all photo links to just go to the album instead of individual photos.

  1. leaving comments on pictures

Due to some incompatability between my weblogging software (Drupal) and my photo software (Gallery), you can’t leave comments attached to the pictures unless you are logged in. One day I’ll fix it 🙂

    1. IMAGES

Matt, I use the images module. I’ve had to make a couple changes but all in all its working well for me. Call or email if’n ya wanna some help er whateva’.

      1. Gallery vs. images module

Yeah, I run the image module on other Drupal web sites. This one is just still running ancient code, largely because of the hundreds of pictures I already have up, tied to Gallery.

It’s the backwards-support thing. I’m debating whether it’s going to be easier for me to port the Gallery module to Drupal 4.4, or if it’s easier to migrate all the existing pictures into the Images module.

Considering I have multiple users, and I want to preserve the existing links (because I’m a believer that changes in technology should not change the paths in URIs, because I hate broken links and 404’s), it’s not an easy decision.

  2. I’m Still Freaked Out

I can’t believe you all have kids. And that some of them are old enough to speak to me. In English.

    1. Hey..

I’ve been talking to you in English for 13 years, Sam..

Why haven’t you ever told me its so scary?

  3. Progeny

Nice looking kids Matt – you certainly can’t deny them!

Here’s a relatively new one of Joey — about 2 months ago, around his first birthday.

What a cutie! And I can see from his choice of hats that you’re already training him to be a pimp!

      1. Not just a pimp

And you will notice him tickling the ivories. I do believe he was playing “Wrong Words” during the shoot. Came home with the photographers phone number too 😉
