hi everyone

Hello all,

Been awhile since I have posted. So much has happened, its hard to know where to begin. First of all we had a great Christmas, Angelina got some dolls and clothes and some leap frog learning stuff. I got a much needed pair of shoes and some shirts. Angelina is a full fledged walker now, walks everywhere, even take her on walks with daddy now, mind you they are slow walks, but none the less we go. She has gone outside and played, got really muddy, but it was cute.

She has developed an attachment to one of her dolls, she holds it like a baby and pats its back, its really sweet. I have been on the holiday break from school, so nothing going on there, except to say that I have about 6 months left and I will hold a full fledged degree.

My brother and his wife had there first ultra sound today, and it looks like there is going to be another boy joining the clan, I was kinda hoping they would get a girl to, just so my daughter would not be lonely, but anyway, they are all excited about that.

Not much else going on. Curt

  1. Life is good!

Glad to hear you had a good Christmas. Sounds like Angelina figured out what to do with her presents! At our house Eli plays with Joshua’s toys and Josh hardly gets a chance. Joshua had a hay day playing with the wrapping and the boxes, just as I suspected.

6 months ’til graduation! Yahoo!!! That is so very awesome.

Another boy in the family! Doesn’t surprise me. I took my kids to a funeral last week and it turns out that all the cousins there were boys on that side of the family. Sara was the only girl. My mom made a big deal of it to Sara how happy she is that she has a granddaughter.

Life is good. We’re counting our blessings at this time of year and we have so much to be greatful for. I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe new year!–

    1. if you believe

Hey all If you believe in the power of prayer, I would like to request that prayers be offered for my daughter Angelina, she is not doing well at all, she has not eaten anything of substance in the last 2 and half days, and refuses liquids. Thanks Curtis

      1. Prayers..

        Yours..

Okay.. done. Now, take her to the hospital tonight if she isn’t drinking anything by the time you read this. Babies need to keep hydrated (far less body fluid than us), and its nothing to mess around with.

        1. I’m with him

I’m with Justin. Dehydration is not something to mess with. I’m not the praying type, so here’s some practical advice. Watch for some of these symptoms, and get your daughter to the doc right away if she has more than one of them:

          • Has not wet any diapers for six hours
          • Has persistent dark yellow urine
          • Has less energy or is less playful than usual
          • Has a dry, sticky mouth and lips
          • Isn’t shedding any tears while crying
          • If she still has a soft spot, if it is sunken

Take her to the emergency room right now if she has:

          • Sunken eyes
          • Hands and feet that are cold and splotchy
          • Lethargy

Josh, our youngest, was severely in distress as an infant. We avoided hospitalization because we didn’t have the money (and had no insurance). We had a doctor who volunteered his time to regularly check up on him (what an awesome Dr.), without pay. We were lucky, and spent a whole lot of time on albuterol treatments, making sure his oxygen stayed attached, etc.

We could have avoided much of the problem if we’d just gotten him to the doctor sooner. At the point at which we brought him in, he took one look at him, and said, “this baby is in distress, we need to get him more oxygen right now”.

          Be careful.

  2. The baby

I have been out of work since Thursday. I didn’t read this until today. I was wondering how the baby is doing. Let me know. We are praying for her over here in Maryland!

    1. much improved

This comment should please Matt most of all ;), prayer works, thanks all for your prayers. Angelina is taking fluids again, however she is still refusing to eat. We have seen a doctor, and he says we just have to ride it out, if she had not started taking fluids again chances are she would be in the hospital yesterday. However she is much improved and we are hoping she will start to eat again so that sunday she can have cake and ice cream, as she will be 1!!. Anyway thanks again.
