Solar power and you.. not likely.. :-)

I have been working on my BS degree in IT for about a year now with another year to go. One of the classes i am taking this quarter is a Hist & Meth. of Science. So far pretty interesting.

This weeks discussion topic is solar power / photovoltaic solutions for alternative home power. I was suprised at how much this option would cost. I think the idea of solar power /(PV) is a great “green

  1. Not likely…for now

I bet if we had taken the $$$ wasted in Iraq and put it into this technology, we could cut that number. In half ($32,750) is still high, but if you can get an order of magnitude reduction ($6550) then you’re a rich company.

I wish I had known about all this before I built my house. I’d have looked into thermal heating and radiant water heating. Now I’d have to do a major rework, which I’ll wait until I’m at least 10 years in to do.
