Ok.. I like my Xterra alot. Its alot of fun off roading and in the snow. Compared to some other SUVs, the Xterra getting about 20mpg isnt too shabby. (can anyone guess what my complaint is about to be?)
I got gas last weekend for $2.54/gallon in Baltimore. Today the same gas station is up to $3.09/gallon and the station across the street is at $3.19.
I realize that the gas stations are trying to charge extra so that they can “afford” the next shipment which will be at a higher price.. But OUCH!!
I was reading today that gas prices are expected to go up 50 cents over the next 3 weeks. At this rate I may have to trade it in and get a Insight in order to be able to afford to go to work each day.

Guaranteed…
$4.00 a gallon within 10 weeks. Guaranteed, IMHO.
Yeah, I’m glad I have the car I have, but it’s still horrible. And this isn’t taxes, fees, or other things going to improve the quality of life or fix oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico. This is money lining the oil company’s pockets. The price of crude isn’t appropriately reflected in this crazy price.

WHOA !!
Yeah.. I was listening to CNN on my XMRADIO and they were stating that for every dollar a bottle of crude oil goes up, the price of gas rises about .025 at the pumps.
I can feel your pain Bryan. I traded in my commuter car that died around the beginning of the year. I traded in my Ford Probe which got decent gas mileage and bought my first SUV (Something that i have wanted for a while.). I bought a Chevy Trailblazer that i get about 17 – 18 mpg on average. The price of gas where i am now is $2.70 per gallon, my new price per tank is about $43. OUCH !!
If trends keep on the path they are now i won’t be able to afford to go to work soon. My commute now cost about $27 / day in gas and tolls.
Holy Gas Prices Batman
Just overnight the price of gas has risen to $3.11 / gal.
Arghhhhhh…

2005 Honda Civic Sedan
$159 lease/ 1999 due at signing, 3 yr lease.
38 mpg beats the pants off my F150 getting 13.
If I was smart I’d get a hybrid, but I don’t want that much of a payment right now.

Used Insight
You can pick up a used 2002 Honda Insight for less than $9000. The resale value of that particular car drops like a rock, as does the Prius and other new hybrids. It’s that “80,000 mile battery warranty” that scares people off, because if the battery dies, it’s like $3000 to replace it, eating up all those gas savings.

Used Insight
Yeah, but then you’re stuck being seen driving around in used Insight… Ewwww… Only joking. Thats just the warranty, its possible that it could last longer than that. Also with the way gas prices are going up daily, it could be worth it. — Bryan
